Description
This reproduction follows “Portrait of a Seated Man”, dated c. 1830–1850 and held by Cleveland Museum of Art. The source credits the maker as Unidentified artist.
The museum identifies the sitter as a Sikh nobleman. Fine textiles, the seated pose and the carefully described interior reveal the social language of nineteenth-century north Indian portraiture.
Choose an art print or an oil interpretation on canvas, then select your size and finish. The digitized composition keeps its proportions; the original object’s measurements, where known, do not limit the reproduction sizes offered.
The original object’s medium is recorded below using the museum’s terminology. A manuscript, drawing or print reproduced on canvas is an interpretation of that document; its original paper, silk, pigments and gilding are not the materials of the reproduction.
