A gallery selling a reproduction is selling a different thing from a gallery selling an original, and the difference has to be legible to the buyer. We supply the work and the paperwork that makes that clear.
What we supply
- Museum-grade painting in oils on linen, built in the technique the period used — glazed and cured for Renaissance work, alla prima for Impressionist, impasto in relief for Van Gogh.
- A certificate naming our painter, the date of execution, the original work, its date and the collection that holds it. It states plainly that the piece is a reproduction.
- Our painter’s signature, in their own name. We never imitate the original signature — the practice that turns a reproduction into a forgery, and the reason some galleries will not touch this category at all.
- Provenance of the original in writing, so a wall label can be accurate without your research time.
Where galleries use them
Programme gaps. A themed show that needs a work no lender will release, painted at the original’s dimensions.
Stand-in works. A piece to hang while the original travels, or in a room whose conditions an original could not survive.
An accessible tier. A hand-painted Vermeer at a four-figure price sells to a visitor who will never bid at auction, and it is an honest object rather than a poster.
Terms
Trade pricing from ten pieces, consignment considered for established galleries, and exclusivity on a range or territory available by agreement. Everything we reproduce is out of copyright, so nothing you hang carries a licensing obligation or a reproduction fee.
How trade accounts work
- Trade pricing from ten pieces, and a further tier above fifty. Quoted per project, not per item.
- One point of contact from the first quote to delivery, and the same painter across a series so the set hangs together.
- Proofs before production. You approve a photograph of the first canvas before the rest are started.
- Any size, including formats outside the ten on the site — we paint to your wall, not to a catalogue.
- Free shipping worldwide, insured, on a schedule agreed with your fitters.
- Invoicing on account for established partners, with VAT handled for EU businesses.
