Art for Restaurants & Bars
A dining room is lit at forty lux and photographed every night. Both facts should decide what hangs on the wall, and neither is usually considered.
Painted for low light
Most reproductions are judged in a bright showroom and then hung somewhere candlelit, where they go flat. Working from the original, our painters can hold the darks open so a Baroque interior still reads at dinner service — the shadows stay luminous instead of closing into a black mass. Tell us the lighting and we paint for it.
What tends to work
- Still life and market scenes for dining rooms — Dutch and Spanish larder paintings were made for exactly this room, four centuries ago.
- Large single works behind a banquette, where a group of small frames would look busy against the seating.
- Portraits in a bar, hung close and slightly high, the way a club hangs them.
- A private dining room treated as its own set, so the space feels like a different address.
The practical side
Canvases are varnished against grease and smoke and can be wiped; a kitchen-adjacent wall is not a problem. Framed pieces are supplied with security fixings on request. And because every painter we reproduce is out of copyright, nothing on your walls carries a licence — which matters the day you put your dining room on a menu, a website or an Instagram post.
How trade accounts work
- Trade pricing from ten pieces, and a further tier above fifty. Quoted per project, not per item.
- One point of contact from the first quote to delivery, and the same painter across a series so the set hangs together.
- Proofs before production. You approve a photograph of the first canvas before the rest are started.
- Any size, including formats outside the ten on the site — we paint to your wall, not to a catalogue.
- Free shipping worldwide, insured, on a schedule agreed with your fitters.
- Invoicing on account for established partners, with VAT handled for EU businesses.
