Your Painting, Painted by Hand
Everything else in this catalogue is a reproduction of a work that already exists. This is the opposite: you send us an image and we paint something that has never existed before, in oils, on linen, by hand. People commission portraits of a person, a couple, a child, a pet, a house, a boat, a view from a window they no longer have.
How It Works
- Send us your photograph. Place the order, then send the image through our contact page. The higher the resolution the better, but we have worked from old and imperfect photographs many times.
- We confirm what is possible. An artist looks at the image and tells you honestly what will work and what will not — a badly blurred face cannot be invented, and we would rather say so before you pay than after.
- You approve a preview. Before the painting is varnished and shipped we send you photographs of the work in progress. If something is wrong, it gets corrected then.
- The finished canvas ships to you with its certificate of authenticity.
What You Receive
Pure oils on fine-grain linen, stretched over a solid pine frame with bevelled corners, finished with a protective UV varnish. Production takes 10 to 15 business days from the moment the photograph is approved — longer for large group compositions, and we will tell you if that is the case.
A Note on Photographs
Send us an image you have the right to use. We paint from family photographs, holiday photographs and photographs you have taken yourself; we do not copy another photographer’s or artist’s copyrighted work without permission.
