The Painter
1837–1878 · Italian · Scapigliatura
Tranquillo Cremona (1837–1878) was an Italian painter whose work has passed into the public domain. That is what lets this studio reproduce it — any of the paintings listed below can be painted by hand, in oils on linen canvas.
Associated with Scapigliatura.
Every canvas here is rebuilt the way it was originally made: a ground, an underpainting, the body colour, then glazes and a protective varnish. The artist follows the sequence the period demanded rather than a shortcut that would look similar from a distance.
