Description

This reproduction follows “Poem on Plum”, dated 1700s–1800s and held by Cleveland Museum of Art. The source credits the maker as copy after Yi Hwang (Korean, 1501–1570).

The museum identifies this as an eighteenth- or nineteenth-century copy after Yi Hwang. The date of the surviving calligraphy must not be confused with the sixteenth-century philosopher’s life.

Choose an art print or an oil interpretation on canvas, then select your size and finish. The digitized composition keeps its proportions; the original object’s measurements, where known, do not limit the reproduction sizes offered.

The original object’s medium is recorded below using the museum’s terminology. A manuscript, drawing or print reproduced on canvas is an interpretation of that document; its original paper, silk, pigments and gilding are not the materials of the reproduction.

What is the difference between a print and an oil painting?

A print is a printed reproduction. An oil painting is painted by hand in oils. Check the options on this product page before choosing your technique.

How do I choose the size?

Check the dimensions listed on this product page and choose the size that suits your space. Available sizes depend on the artwork.

Which finishes are available?

Three finishes are available: rolled, stretched or framed. Supplements are shown in the configurator; the price depends on your chosen technique, size and finish.

How long does an oil painting take?

A hand-painted oil painting takes 10–20 days to produce. This is the painting time, not a delivery estimate, and does not apply to prints.

What are the shipping cost and return window?

Shipping is free worldwide, with no minimum order. The return window is 30 days.
