Andrea di Niccolò
1440–1514 · Italian · Sienese school
Andrea di Niccolò (1440–1514) was an Italian painter whose work has passed into the public domain. That is what lets this studio reproduce it — any of the paintings listed below can be painted by hand, in oils on linen canvas.
Associated with Sienese school.
Reproducing this painter
Sienese painting kept the gold ground and the flattened space of the Byzantine tradition long after Florence abandoned them, working in egg tempera with gilding. The work calls for a gilder as much as a painter.
