The Painter
Amedeo Preziosi
1816–1882 · Maltese · Neoclassicism, Romanticism
Amedeo Preziosi (1816–1882) was a Maltese painter whose work has passed into the public domain. That is what lets this studio reproduce it — any of the paintings listed below can be painted by hand, in oils on linen canvas.
Associated with Neoclassicism, Romanticism.
Reproducing this painter
Neoclassical painting hides its own making: the brushwork is polished away, the contour precise, the colour subordinate to the drawing. Any visible stroke reads as a mistake, which makes it unforgiving work.
