The Painter
Alexandre Charpentier
1856–1909 · French · Art Nouveau
Alexandre Charpentier (1856–1909) was a French painter whose work has passed into the public domain. That is what lets this studio reproduce it — any of the paintings listed below can be painted by hand, in oils on linen canvas.
Associated with Art Nouveau.
Reproducing this painter
Art Nouveau refuses the line between fine art and ornament: the same whiplash curves and stylised natural forms run through the whole surface. Reproducing it is ornamental labour, every motif placed by hand.
